SFS Audio · Omen · in your browser
A four-knob delay built on the Oracle trace. The past flows in from the left to a "now" line; to the right wait the echoes already in the delay's memory, drawn before you hear them. Turn a knob and the future on the screen moves before you hear it.
Omen is a plugin for macOS 11 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel: VST3, AU and Standalone. $15 until December 31, then $29. More about Omen, and buying it
A browser version. It can't follow your DAW's tempo (set it in the box below), and presets you save stay in this browser.
| Knob | On the knob | On the screen |
|---|---|---|
| Time | An echo orrery: one arm per repeat, gold on a division; tempo divisions make regular stars, and the knob catches on them | Every waiting echo slides; on a division they sit on the beat lines |
| Feedback | Vapor rises higher the longer the tail lasts, and turns red past 100%. Flick it up for a dub throw | The echo train lengthens or fades before you hear it; during a throw, the future follows the knob |
| Tone | A pool: its curve dips where each repeat is cut, and the water warms or cools | Later repeats turn warmer and dimmer, or cooler and thinner |
| Mix | A moon phase: new moon is all dry, full moon is all echo | How tall the waiting echoes stand |
TryLoad "Dub Throw Ready", switch to MIDI / keys only and hit one note hard: its echo train waits to the right. Flick Feedback up and let go: the screen shows the swell before it arrives. Press the smiley to bypass.
In the pluginThe same engine, at your DAW's tempo. Every control can be automated, and your session keeps Omen as you left it.
Knob contractDrag up or right · Shift fine · double-click resets · arrow keys when focused. A quick flick on a throwable knob swings it and springs it back; a slow drag just sets it.
NameOmen: a sign of what is coming, which is the whole idea of the screen. The O is an eye that glances and blinks, and the letters trail echoes of themselves.
