Refund Policy
Short, and stated plainly so nobody buys on a wrong assumption.

01The policy
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, including for a change of mind.
Our products are small pieces of software, sold by a small studio, as they are. Each product page states its price, the platform it runs on, and its current state of development, so you can decide before you buy.
02So decide before you pay
Every product page carries pictures of the software running, the platform and plug-in formats it ships in, and the limitations we know about. Read them. If anything is unclear, ask us first at connect@smileyface.studio, and we will answer honestly, including when the answer is that the product is not right for you.
Every product page also states the oldest macOS version its build requires, measured from the build itself rather than from intent, and which Macs it runs on. On an older version of macOS the software will not start, and the sale is final — so check that line before you pay, and ask us if anything about it is unclear.
We would rather lose a sale to a straight answer than take money from someone who is going to be disappointed.
03What this does not cover
This policy is about changing your mind. It is not a way for us to keep money for something we failed to hand over.
If we do not deliver, we make it right. If the licence key or download you paid for never arrives, or the key will not activate and we cannot fix it, tell us at connect@smileyface.studio and we will sort it out, including returning your money.
04Your payment provider, and your rights
Payments are handled by PayPal, and PayPal’s own buyer terms apply to your payment. Nothing on this page removes rights you have under those terms, or under the consumer law where you live.
05Licences
Our licence keys are checked on your own machine, without contacting us, so we cannot switch one off remotely — and we would not want software that could. If we do return your money for something undelivered, please uninstall the software and delete the key.
